The Historic Ranson District is a defined historic district with clear standards and targeted infrastructure upgrades that protect Ranson's character, strengthen small businesses, and make the area safer and more walkable.
Why it matters
Growth should not erase what makes Ranson special. Preserving identity and improving walkability helps families, supports local business, and builds community pride.
What I will do
- Define district boundaries and publish plain-English guidelines
- Protect character without creating unnecessary red tape
- Prioritize ADA-first sidewalk and crossing improvements, lighting, and streetscape upgrades
- Support small businesses with clearer permitting help and incentives where possible
- Use events and community programming to bring foot traffic and energy back into the district
What success looks like: safer streets, stronger small businesses, more foot traffic, and a district residents recognize as a point of pride.
